"Anxiety of One Low In Confidence." - A Poem By Natasha Katherine Low

//

"My hands lie unsightly, too clammy and cold,
My breath, rising ragged and bare.
My friends try to calm me, they hold me in silence,
What good will that do once I'm there?

I can't stand alone, it won't matter a second,
If your hand keeps me docile and fair
That silvery tongue and that glint in your eyes,
Your lies calming and tasteful in pairs.

A thickening horror, a shivering pull,
A devious manipulation in thoughts
I was told as a lass,
Imagination lies boundless,
But for once it seemed chilly as air!

Over-thinking is lethal, of that I am sure
And to ponder is suicide-inclined,
Not your darling, your lover, your companion,
Your care;
But belief and your trying beware.

A person like me, is weak in all aspects
That force me to give me a care,
I don't mean I'm lacking,
Good heavens, dear, no
I just see the 'lacking' that's there!"

//

Here's another one!

As somebody who suffers from terrible, paralyzing stage fright, I always seem to have that horrible butterfly feeling in the pit of my stomach before any major event in my life.

As such, this was a poem written after I'd just survived a particularly memorable audition. I had lain awake in bed that night recalling the horrible emotions I had experienced in the time leading up to the big event and it just seemed like it would have been a waste not taking it all down. So here we are!

I hope you like it. Please let me know what you think!

Thanks for your time :)

"No Cure" - An Original Poem By Natasha Katherine Low

//

"A secondary conviction,
Sheds light on the jargon
That stripped to their silence,
These words hold no license.

They wouldn't alleviate calamity,
Nor nullify the vindictive
It seems paper-thin still,
To search now for confidence.

A patented victory,
Holds no aspect for colors
It snuffs out one's innocence.
And hope in the vacance

I seek out no apologies.
No lies and no comfort
I long for the memories,
The calm and the quiet

That hatred, I will,
Possess no propensity for
I will revel now in patience,
And will strengthen the righteous.

A second's weak hesitance,
Could cost me my caution
My resurrection, it seems,
Would come lacking deliverance

I still regret nothing,
This time hath no pardon
No leaning right back
Into my poisoned patterns

I will not surrender,
To your many sins
And a broken salvation,
Will now lead me to kin

In this defining silence,
This frosted abyss
I will make sense of bisons,
Of your faltering kiss

Farewells be in order,
May your claws stay intact
With the bitter realization,
That these eggshells have cracked

My friend, you have owed me,
My time and my patience
But rest easy in knowing
It means to me no more relevance

Just begone, and do space me
Your dear icy repose.
Entertaining they be,
Your words take on a course

That to me, seems vindictive,
And so shallow and plain,
That will guarantee you affluence
But will spare you no pain

My friend, I will leave you
With these parting words.
May you find your own bearing,
May your vision be cleared."

Hello!

This is another piece by me and it was really written just a couple of weeks before this. I haven't shared this with anyone else yet so I really hope that you like it! It describes a painful occurrence in my life that had to do with all that awesome teenage clique-y drama and whatnot. But yeah, basically a conflict and what it felt like getting my feet back onto the ground.

Of course, everything's fine now (and it has been for a while) :) and I could not be better! Still, it's good to know that all that emotion wasn't put to waste.

I really have to thank the SGWC for giving me the courage to start putting more of my work on the net. I really don't know if these are any good but I guess I'll learn and grow from my mistakes. (P.S their Anniversary Party was amazing! I'll cover it if I have the time.)

Anyway, let me know what you think! Thank you for your time. :)

"A Passionate Loathing" - An Original Poem By Natasha Katherine Low

//

"Not that you seem beautiful to me, or possess even a haunting resemblance,
For believe me this:-
You invoke in me shades shying pitifully so,
From arduous passion, attraction and lust
Effortless fancy inhabiting a young maiden's novel,
Believe me, you shatter to dust

Yet you interest me, and let none be the wiser
A bastard like you, the scum of my earth,
Oy vey, you catch me breathless

I sink in despair as I bathe now in alcohol
What have I done to deserve this?
Or you, I do mean, If I am being realistic -
What is about you that binds me?

The colorless pigment that masks as your skin
Or the tattered tufts of drool you call hair
The crooked skew that I'm told is your mouth
Or the holes in your face you call eyes!

You disgust me, you draw me, you trap me like air
The scourge of this earth to be known
You lie and you cheat with your voice, calm as velvet
With plenty to lose, none who cares

A silver platter? My dear, you have diamonds
With your hardest of decisions being choice
Spoilt for a lifetime and laughing in sin,
I pity the lady that bore you

Yet how is it now, why,

as I'm lying alone
Oh my arms
Why do they seek to possess you?"

Hello everyone! :) This is a piece by me that was uploaded a while back on the SG Writer's Club page. If you haven't heard of that organization already, TSWC is a great platform for anybody interested in the field to showcase their talent and to enjoy the works of the many other gifted artists here in Singapore!

I received lots of positive comments but a fairly common point that was noted by many was the sheer intensity of my words. The poem was kind of intense for me too, to tell you the truth. A lot of my work is just like this and I guess it's just about me trying to capture some of my stronger emotions into words that resonate with myself. Everything else just doesn't seem real enough. This one in particular was meant to be the point of view of somebody falling unwittingly for an underserving, horrible person. But don't worry, It's not that I mean anybody in particular!

Well anyway, I uploaded this piece sometime in August (the 19th if I remember correctly) but I wasn't all that ready to put a face to my name back then. However, I've decided to loosen up a bit now and grasp this opportunity to share a little of myself with you guys.

Please let me know what you think alright! I appreciate your support and feedback. :)

Running Man Singapore - Race Start!

Every Singaporean RM fan would probably relate to the unexpected hardship I went to in securing some crazy-hot tickets to the RM Singapore Fanmeet this year. I wasn't about to get Cat A tickets for myself but I felt fortunate enough to be there at all. I'd say the night was worth every penny I'd spent.

The fan meet started abruptly with our favorite five-some (Jong Kook, Gary, Ji Hyo, Haha, Suk Jin) making their grand entrance onto stage to the well-known Boys Over Flowers OST. If I recall correctly I'm pretty sure Haha was meant to be Gu Jun Pyo with a baseball cap and a large oversized fur coat. I have to say that when it comes to live entertainment and on-the-ball creativity, everyone'd have no look no further than our 1.7m tall 'F4' leader!

Besides bringing the laughter, the RM members were well-prepared for a majority of interview questions. Kim Jong Kook revealed that he has been to Singapore shores not just once or twice but three whole times! He was an amazing crowd-charmer throughout the entire performance and was able to converse in English at least 90% of the time.

Our One Man and Two Kids!

Here's a little bit of that Kookie modesty I really liked:

"KJK, I heard you always win at games, don't you? So do you like to win?"
KJK: "Well I'm a very generous person, so I can afford not to."

Short RM Fan-meet Introduction Video I snagged:
https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10151928420298540&l=3289391759611182516

Never a bad thing to be competitive though. I'd say that he was the member most comfortable amongst the fans.

Kookie has the right blend of confidence and charm xD

And what would a RM event be without some of that Monday Couple goodness? One of the highlights of the night was definitely Gary and Jihyo's rendition of LeeSsang's "Turned Off The Tv" (By the way, is anybody else excited for LeeSsang's sold-out concert to happen this month?). Ji Hyo also made the crowd go wild by calmly stating that she did find Gary Handsome. In fact, Ji Hyo showcased quite a bit of her personality that night. One particular instance not to be missed is her belting out a verse of KJK's "Lovable"! (Encore Video below).

A good shot I took of JiHyo!

Our beloved Race-Starter, Ji Suk Jin, performed his own rendition of (of course) "I Swear" which really set the stage for the next couple of performances. Haha tore it up with his own hit songs like "Rosa" and "Busan Vacance". The guy's energy level was honestly off the charts. Haha got the fans to their feet in a matter of seconds (which can be a debatable feat here in Singapore) and retained all that energy right up to the RM's encore performance. If there was anybody that knew how to work a stage, that person'd be one Ha Dong Hoon.

Skull & Haha's Busan Vacance:

Kim Jong Kook's voice soothed the crowd with his infamous "One Man" and "Today More Than Yesterday" performances. Those are two of my favorite k-pop songs, in all honesty. He also showed us just why he has retained the nickname 'Sparta' all these years by snagging a few wins for himself and his lucky fan partner across a variety of different games.

KJK's One Man:

KJK's Today More Than Yesterday:

Of course, the RM members were as sensible and generous as always. A clear indication was definitely their grateful performance in the tug-of-war game where the five of them were pitted against a small handful of fans that consisted mostly of girls (9/10 of them were girls, if I remember correctly). They let the fans win more than a couple of rounds and were always happy to pose for pictures between and after every game.

Well, I've said enough. Enjoy the RM Encore performance video and I do apologize for that whole 'turning the camera back into the crowd' trick I tried about twice in the video. We have a lot of KJK-Haha Bromance in there, RM Member's solo dances and, of course, Mong Ji's adorable Lovable cover! Check it out and I apologize once again for the lackluster quality. Remember - it was taken by a fan for a fan!
