Sam Tsui & Kurt Hugo Schneider Asia Tour!

This is a post that has been a long time coming, but here we go!

Sam Tsui and Kurt Hugo Schneider are well-known names in the music business. I'm sure that anybody with access to Youtube must have heard of them at least once or twice.

These are two very talented people that have come a long way from their humble youtube origins. While it seems unlikely that the dynamic duo will be straying indefinitely from the web platform anytime soon, the two were able to have a two-stop Asia tour, touching down at our shores before heading off to Sam Tsui's father's beautiful homeland, Hong Kong.

Now for some quick background info on the two:

Sam Tsui is an American singer that made his debut performance on ABC World News on October 28 2009. Prior to that, he was active in his Wissahickon High School musicals (performances including 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat', a personal favorite) and was part of the Yale University's 'The Duke's Men of Yale', an all-male a cappella group (would it be in good taste to interject here with 'The Warblers'?) Sam has appeared on Oprah Winfrey, Ellen and has released his first full-length album, 'Make it Up'.

The beat is catchy and the lyrics are easy to relate to. Sam is also mostly known for his amazing covers of existing songs, examples being:

Kurt Hugo Schneider has helped the virtual world discover many emerging talents in the pop and soul industry. A musician with an ear for talent and musically gifted hands, Kurt has launched many collaborations with popular stars such as Max Schneider and Christina Grimmie. 

Kurt also attended Wissahickon High School and Yale University with Sam and was the background talent that did much to propel the duo to fame. He recently collaborated with Coca-Cola to create creative covers of music videos for the 'Sounds of AHH' campaign.

Attending the Fan-meet, I had the opportunity to meet both Sam and Kurt up close. In fact, I was right up front in the front row!

Sam was energetic and up-beat throughout the night, keeping the crowd hyped up and working the stage easily. He played off Kurt flawlessly and professionally, jumping about like a adrenalin-fuelled bunny and alternating between the keyboard and the microphone throughout the night.

Kurt was mostly either on the guitar or keyboard. He had a pleasant stage presence and charmed the audience with his never-ending mega-watt smiles and good-natured introductions. Of course, the two did collaborate closely on one special live piece:

It was an amazing night. I had a lot of fun singing and dancing with them and all their fans! I can see many great things in store for them both, both as individual performers and as a dynamic duo. I will definitely be anticipating any new material.
